- What differentiates VAT from other travel booking websites?
Other travel websites are mostly operated by online travel bureaus which can access only those databases that contain flights and accommodation that are available to the particular travel bureau alone. VAT is not a travel bureau but an independent travel search engine that gathers the prices for flights, accommodation and shuttle services from a multitude of different websites (airlines, travel bureaus, hotels etc.). It does the search for available offers for you and generates and filters all available offers fitting your request within seconds.
- Are the travel offers that VAT generates up to date?
The offers that VAT generates are available at the minute it starts its search. Therefore we advise to leave little time between the search and the actual booking to make sure the offer is not gone in the meantime.
- I am not the passenger. Can I still make a reservation for another person?
Yes. Enter the name of the actual passenger during the booking process and only enter your own name in the payment details.
- Can I decide which airport I want to fly into?
Yes, by ticking the according box in the drop-down menu “Preferred Airport(s)” in the search entry mask for the booking of the flights (Step 1).
- Do I have to book the whole package (flight(s), shuttle, accommodation) or can I book just part of it?
You can skip the booking steps that you do not need by clicking on “Continue”. For example, if you only wish to book flights and accommodation without the airport shuttle, you can simply skip the shuttle-option by clicking on “Continue” in the shuttle search entry mask. You can compose your travel package according to your individual needs.
- Where do I get more detailed information about hotels or shuttle services?
More detailed information about the hotels can be found here. For information regarding the shuttle service please see section 'Transport' on this site. After the completion of your booking process you will also get detailed information about your accommodation and shuttle service in the e-mail confirming your booking.
- Is the total package price for all persons shown at the end of my booking selection really the final price or are there further costs added later?
The total package price includes all costs except the credit card processing fee that depends on the type of credit card you wish to use for the payment of your travel package.
- Which types of credit cards can I use for the booking?
Your booking process at VAT is always directly linked to the provider of the respective offer, so the types of credit cards you can use depend on the provider of your chosen offer.
- Can I make a booking without a credit card?
No, unfortunately you can only pay with a credit card.
- How do I know my booking has been successful?
After you have finished the booking process we will send you a booking confirmation at the e-mail address you have specified in the booking process. This confirmation mail will include your booking code and all details of your booked travel package.
- Where do I get my flight tickets from?
VAT issues electronic tickets. With an electronic ticket, you simply need to go to the airport with the required official document (identity card or passport) as well as your booking code, and go to the airline's check-in desk to get your boarding pass.
- Can I change or cancel the whole or parts of the travel package I have booked?
That depends on the terms of conditions of each provider. Please check the cancellation terms of your respective provider. You find these terms at the provider’s website. The shuttle service can be cancelled up until 24 hours before the booked shuttle pick-up time.
- How do I know my cancellation has been successful?
You will receive an e-mail confirming your cancellation.
- What can I do if I was not able to complete the booking?
